Os potenciais efeitos da radiação não-ionizante no crescimento de microrganismos / Potential effects of non-ionizing radiation on the growth of microorganisms

Abstract

As radiações não-ionizantes sempre estiveram presentes em nossas vidas e com a revolução tecnológica, esse contato passou a ser mais frequente e intenso. Conhecer mais sobre seus efeitos e riscos em nosso organismo, além de aprender a se proteger, é essencial para que possamos avançar tecnologicamente com segurança. Esse experimento teve como objetivo examinar os potenciais efeitos das radiações não-ionizantes no crescimento de microrganismos. Para testar esses efeitos, foram colhidas 180 amostras com swabs, as quais foram divididas em 3 tratamentos: 60 telas de celulares, 60 capinhas de celulares e 60 mouses de computadores desktops públicos; sendo que esse último tratamento foi o controle, onde se recebe a menor influência de radiações não-ionizantes. Para sistematizar o experimento, foram colhidos esfregões, numa área de 8cm², umedecidos em água destilada, de celulares e capinhas com superfície lisa, e de botões esquerdos e direitos de mouses. As amostras foram inoculadas em até 4 horas em meio de cultura BHI líquido e levadas para a estufa por 24 horas a 37°C. As amostras foram retiradas da estufa e visualizou-se, a olho nu, se houve ou não crescimento bacteriano nos tubos de ensaio. Os seguintes resultados foram obtidos: 18,33% de amostras não crescidas em mouse, 28,33% da capinha e 43,33% da tela do celular. Foi realizado um qui-quadrado de independência, que indicou uma relação estatisticamente significante entre as amostras e chances de essas acontecerem ao acaso (p<.001). Em síntese, as radiações não-ionizantes provenientes do celular, causaram algum impacto nos microrganismos das amostras, mostrando uma inviabilidade de reprodução em meio rico em nutrientes e altamente favorável. São necessários mais estudos nessa área para que se conecte as radiações específicas que possam ter causado inibição no crescimento de boa parte desses microrganismos. Esse estudo nos chama atenção para as radiações não-ionizantes e os impactos dela nos diversos sistemas biológicos a longo prazo.
