Aplicação de adsorventes para o tratamento de emulsões óleo/água / Application of adsorbents for oil/water emulsions treatment

Abstract


 

A remoção de óleo da água produzida é um dos principais desafios na exploração de petróleo, especialmente em plataformas marítimas (offshore). O espaço limitado dos navios e plataformas e exploração combinado com um grande volume de água utilizado, requer o uso de processos com alta eficiência na separação óleo/água. Neste contexto, a adsorção tem se adequado a essas características. Neste trabalho, foi investigada a eficiência de remoção de óleo diesel da água em emulsões pelos adsorventes carvão ativado e fibra de carbono. A determinação de parâmetros cinéticos foi obtida utilizando modelos de cinéticas de pseudo-primeira ordem e pseudo-segunda ordem e parâmetros termodinâmicos (modelos de isotermas de Langmuir e Freundlich) no processo de adsorção em batelada. Na determinação dos parâmetros cinéticos, a influência da temperatura e da concentração inicial foram avaliados. Outros parâmetros investigados foram o pH e a salinidade. Os resultados mostraram que os adsorventes carvão ativado (CA) e a fibra de Carbono (FC) removeram o óleo rapidamente com eficiência. O processo de adsorção, especialmente com CA e FC é bastante promissor para aplicação no tratamento de água contaminada com óleo.
